Lush Inverness will be turning into a clothing swap shop during the last weekend of the month.

Before August 29, people willing to participate will be able to exchange up to 10 items of clothing for tokens that they can use on August 30 and 31, when the swap shop will be running.

Participants will be asked to purchase a small tub of Charity Pot Hand and Body Lotion for £4.50, with proceeds being donated to charities and grass-roots organisations supported by the company.

Assistant manager Ashley MacDonald said: “We’ve seen that the initiative was going very well in other shops in the UK so we have decided to host one in Inverness too.

“We were also inspired by the Second Hand September initiative organised by Oxfam, so we thought that it would have been a good way to start a more sustainable month.

“All the money raised by the Charity Pot is equally distributed between charities involved in campaigns for animals, human rights and the environment.”

The swap will be open also to people without any spare clothes to bring, as the shop will be giving clothing tickets when purchasing the Charity Pot lotion.

Any clothing left over from the event will be donated to local charity shops.

The swap shop will be running from 9am to 5.30pm.
