Engineering firm Korrie Technical Services has secured contracts worth more than £8 million over the last six months.

The Inverness-based business has secured projects from a range of clients including Morrison Construction, Robertson and Balfour Beatty, to provide engineering services to a number of community-based projects such as the new school in Merkinch.

Korrie is also involved in two new housing schemes, Whitehills in Alness with contractor Pat Munro, and with TSL Contractors at Achintore.

The business employs some 150 people and has signalled its commitment to developing the next generation of engineers, with 26 apprentices. Korrie, which was founded nine years ago by Donnie Fraser, has also pledged to share its good fortune, having established Korrie Kauses to support Highland Hospice.

The business is also committed to tackling fuel poverty and reducing energy costs and carbon emissions, through its contract delivery heating services and work with partners such as Highland Council on its heating framework.

Korrie is now led by Kevin Shinnie, who joined the business at the beginning of the year, with operations supported by director Peter Corbett.

Mr Shinnie said: “Securing more than £8 million in
contracts in the last six months is a big milestone for Korrie, as it highlights not only the quality, expertise and hard work of people in the business, but also the investment that is taking place.

“In the last six months, we’ve secured contracts on projects that will really help to shape local communities in the north.”
