Bridge updates are needed
As you forewarned in your paper, the bridge onto Ness Islands from Island Bank Road was closed last week for repair. This came on top of the Infirmary Bridge which has been permanently closed since August. This meant that for a period there was no pedestrian crossing point of the Ness between the city centre and the ring road.
What is the current situation regarding the Infirmary Bridge which was much used by both pedestrians and cyclists? The council originally said they hoped to reopen it in early September but so far there have been no repairs to this bridge and there are no signs posted as to when they are expected. Our councillors need to get a firm grip of this situation as this continuing closure is causing very serious inconvenience to the local residents and council tax payers.
Highland Council officers, it appears, have long preferred pursuing “new vanity projects” over "doing the day job” and adequately maintaining existing infrastructure. Inverness-based members of the council should, at the very least, be getting a weekly progress report on these bridge repairs. If the responsible officers are "dragging their feet”, then those feet need holding “closer to the fire”.

Project must be fully understood
I completely fail to understand why this [Moray FLOW Park project] development has to be done in a Marine Conservation Area when sufficient space has been available in other areas which are not designated conservation areas.
Having seen what can be anchored or set down on the sea bed in Cromarty Firth, I think this whole thing has not been fully researched by those responsible for the project. Any development of this scale has to be fully understood and openly discussed on all public platforms.

New bakery will be welcomed
I lived in London for many years, and often frequented Greggs, which always had high quality, tasty sausage rolls and 'bakes' and amazing cakes. I have tried local bakeries up here, and found the pies to be bland and dry! I look forward to, and wish Greggs all the very best for the future.
