East Kilbride content creator held his hands around neck of ex-partner while in Inverness
A content creator held his hands around the neck of his ex-girlfriend and pushed her across the kitchen a court had been told.
Calvin Hardie (23) was found guilty of assault during a trial at Inverness Sheriff Court on December 12 of last year.
The court heard that Hardie had got into an argument with his ex-partner while she had her young baby with her at a property in the city’s Kessock Court.
Both Hardie’s ex-partner and her mother gave evidence before Sheriff Eilidh Macdonald.
The ex-partner said: “He held both hands around my neck and grabbed both wrists and pushed me across the room.
“I was still holding my son.
“I told him he needed to get out and I phoned my mum.”
The victim’s mother said: “I got a phone call and she was on the phone hysterically crying and screaming, she sounded like she was terrified.
“When she let me into the house her whole body was shaking and she curled into a ball crying.
“She was covered in marks on her neck, throat, arms and ribs.”
Hardie, of East Kilbride, denied making any physical contact with his victim during the argument but Sheriff Eilidh Macdonald found him guilty of assault and placed a non-harassment order on him.
She deferred sentencing until December 4.
Sheriff Macdonald said: “I am persuaded this was a one-off and an awful episode you can put behind you.”
