The daily number of people in the Highlands who have tested positive for coronavirus continues to grow.

In the past 24 hours, 14 more cases have been confirmed taking the total in the NHS Highland area to 99.

Neighbouring Grampian has 194 cases.

There have been 361 new cases since yesterday, taking the national figure to 3706.

The number of deaths in Scotland increased by two to 220 – this comes after relatively sharp rises over the past three days.

A Scottish Government spokesman said: "As highlighted by the First Minister today, these figures are not fully representative of developments this weekend as we continue to move to a new process for reporting deaths."

The most cases are in the Greater Glasgow & Clyde health board area, where 931 people have been diagnosed with the disease.

So far there have been 23,143 Scottish tests carried out.
