A community walk is set to take place in Inverness for Mental Health Awareness week.
Organised by NHS Highland Community Mental Health Services with HUG Action for Mental Health, Centred, Spirit Advocacy, and other third sector partners, will the walk will place on Thursday, May 15.
The walk, titled ‘Bridge of Hope: One Bridge, One Breath, One Shared Journey’, will begin at 4pm at The Gathering Place, Bught Road.
Everyone is invited, whether they have lived experience, have supported a loved one, or simply care about mental health, to walk side by side in solidarity and support.
Participants will follow a reflective and inclusive route through the heart of Inverness, symbolising the shared steps towards greater understanding and recovery.
The walk will conclude with refreshments at Ness Bank Church Hall from 5pm to 6pm.
As a visual symbol of hope and awareness, Ness Bridge will be lit in green and yellow, with green representing hope, resilience, growth, and healing, and yellow symbolising positivity and optimism.
John Beaton, chief officer of Spirit Advocacy, said: “The Bridge of Hope walk is a chance for us all to step forward together, to show that no matter our background or experience, we all belong in a community that values hope, connection, and recovery.
“Whether you’re walking for yourself, a loved one, or for the future we want to see, your presence matters.”
The event is open to individuals, families, friends, carers, colleagues, peers, and anyone who wishes to show support for mental health. No booking is necessary, and all are welcome to join.
