Bad behaviour by a drunk Inverness man led to him being asked to leave "a drinking den" near his home.

Robin Munro, aged 38, of Mackintosh Road, had been socialising with friends on March 12, 2021 when he began "acting inappropriately," Inverness Sheriff Court was told yesterday (Thursday).

"He was asked to stop but he continued in an aggressive manner, shouting and swearing. He was then asked to leave and police were called. Officers found him highly intoxicated and his clothing covered in blood. He acted in an aggressive manner towards the police," the court heard.

Munro admitted a breach of the peace and being outwith his home during court imposed curfew hours.

Defence solicitor Marc Dickson said: "He has a propensity to drink too much. This was pretty much a drinking den. He is a vulnerable person and he can be taken advantage of."

Sheriff Robert Frazer ordered Munro to carry out 90 hours of unpaid community work. He also placed him under an 8pm to 7am restriction of liberty order for the next six months.
