Community gets chance to mourn lifeboat legend Stan MacRae at RNLI base funeral
The funeral for much-loved RNLI crewman Stan MacRae will be held at the charity's North Kessock base.
Mr MacRae was one of the branch's longest serving volunteers before his unexpected death in the early hours of Valentine's Day.
Inverness funeral directors D Chisholm and Sons has shared arrangements for the 57-year-old's funeral.
It states Mr MacRae, of Clachnaharry Road, died peacefully in Raigmore Hospital, adding he was the "much-loved dad of Gemma, beloved son of Pat and Charlie, loving partner of Valerie, also a dear brother, uncle and good friend".
It states: "Funeral ceremony on Tuesday, March 7, at noon in Kessock Lifeboat Station, North Kessock, thereafter to Kilvean Cemetery. All welcome to attend. No flowers please. Donations if desired in memory of Stan towards RNLI may be given at the door or online here where live stream link will be available. Car parking will be available within the village and due to the expected numbers, the ceremony will be relayed to those outside the boathouse."
