Anticipation is growing for Scotland fans in Inverness – and around the world – ahead of the men’s team’s biggest game this millennia.

The Tartan Army face England tonight in a must-not-lose Euro 2020 clash which is likely to be another rollercoaster of emotions.

Pre-match excitement has been building at businesses in the city centre with Scotland memorabilia being particularly popular.

Staff at Sports Direct are among those enjoying the build up – and like many other places – proudly displaying national colours.

Daniel Nisbett, the assistant manager, said there had been a lot of interest so far, especially ahead of Monday’s opening game, adding: “It has just gone crazy.”

Other businesses are understood to be preparing special offers to celebrate a Scotland victory, with more in the pipeline if the team reach the knock-out stages.
