The A9 is restricted in Badenoch after a collision.

Emergency services are making their way to the Aviemore area after a crash was reported at 4.55pm.

The location was initially ‘Etteridge to Kincraig’ but it’s understood the restriction is outside Aviemore.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service told the Strathy it had despatched a crew from Kingussie to the area and was holding a watching brief.

Traffic Scotland is reporting restrictions to both north and southbound flow:

“The A9 at Aviemore is currently restricted in both directions, due to a road traffic collision. Road users are advised to use caution on approach.”

It’s understood that a lorry and a car were involved in the incident.

More as it comes in.
