An Inverness restaurant has announced that it will be reopening once again from Monday.

Rocpool Restaurant, in Young Street, shared the news in a Facebook post following today's announcement by the First Minister that the region would be placed in Tier 1 of the Covid-19 regulations next week.

The announcement makes it easier for hospitality businesses to operate because they will be able to sell alcohol both indoors and outdoors with time restrictions.

This afternoon's post said: "So after today’s Scottish Government confirmation that the Highlands are in Tier 1 we are delighted to confirm that the Rocpool doors will re-open again on Monday, November 2.

"We are looking forward to seeing you all again and alléluia we can even offer you a glass of Rioja Réserva with your Venison.

"Thank you for your continued support throughout the last few weeks. Having to cancel people’s plans at such late notice was not something we felt comfortable having to do.

"So if you need to cheer yourself or meet up with some friends please go onto our website and reserve your table."
