Loyal customers have been happy to follow an Inverness food store to its new premises the owner has said.

When Kasia Pogo heard the Market Hall in the Victorian Market would be closing to redevelopment she decided to look for a new shop.

She has since relocated to the former Lettuce Eat premises, next to Oxfam in Lombard Street, and she said she was pleased with the move.

Miss Pogo had run her Saffron Oriental Food Shop at the previous location for 13 years and she said the other businesses there were like a family.

She said: “Everyone in Lombard Street is so nice as well. It’s a community and we are very lucky here.”

As a food shop she was able to remain open during lockdown and moved her business to its new home at the beginning of March.

She said she had a lot of loyal customers who had followed her to the new location. She added: “I’ve been very blessed with the customers.”

Miss Pogo said it was important to be knowledgeable about the products she was selling and added: “It’s just vital to know what you are selling. When they are coming here they are looking for advice.”
