Emmanuel Moine, general manager of The Glen Mhor Hotel & Apartments, is looking forward to expanding the hotel’s team in the wake of signing the Hoteliers’ Charter.

A well-known Inverness hotel has signed up to a national scheme to reinforce its commitment to staff development as it launches a hunt for new talent.

The Glen Mhor Hotel & Apartments on Ness Bank has signed the Hoteliers’ Charter, pledging to uphold the charter’s 10 key aims in providing a welcoming and supportive working environment.

These include developing staff through training and mentoring, promoting a healthy work-life balance, and providing support to staff for their physical and mental wellness.

The commitment comes as the Glen Mhor, which has 109 rooms, 10 apartments and one fully furnished holiday house, has experienced an increase in demand following the lifting of pandemic measures.

The hotel is to hold an open day on Saturday, October 16, from 10am-3pm for all those interested in a career in the hospitality industry.

General manager Emmanuel Moine said: “We’re really proud to be signing the Hoteliers’ Charter to further commit to the wellbeing and development of our team.

"Like so many tourism and hospitality businesses, the last two years have been unpredictable– but our team has consistently gone above and beyond to ensure that we continue to deliver the high level of service that our guests have come to expect.

“It’s fantastic to be in a position to be able to return the favour and formally commit to continued investment in their careers and wellbeing.

“As pandemic restrictions continue to lift, we’ve seen a steady increase in demand for both rooms at the Glen Mhor Hotel & Apartments and dining at The Waterside restaurant. This is an encouraging sign for the Highland tourism industry, and we’re excited to be holding an open day to find the next hospitality superstars to join our team.

“We’re dedicated to ensuring our team is fully trained and equipped for their job, so whether newcomers to the industry or seasoned veterans, we can’t wait to meet prospective team members on October 16.”

The Glen Mhor Hotel & Apartments is offering a range of full and part-time positions, including part-time roles for under 18s.

Glen Mhor staff enjoy a range of benefits, including half price meals in the Waterside restaurant; a personalised training plan and monthly personal development time; 100 per cent of all tips earned; and a month’s free accommodation for those moving to the area for work.
