A busy city centre junction in Inverness has been resurfaced as part of Highland Council’s current roads maintenance programme.
Around 700 square metres of the B865 Academy Street junction, with Friars Lane and Chapel Street, has been resurfaced at a cost of £40,000.
The previously degraded road surface was identified as a priority project in the council’s capital works programme for the Inverness area and a new road surface and new road markings have greatly improved the junction.
This is one of many road infrastructure projects that the council is highlighting that have recently been completed and these are being featured on social media with the hashtag #HighlandRoadsRecovery.
A council spokesman said: "It’s very important to know how to report damage to Highland Council-maintained roads and pavements (including potholes). This can be done by using the online forms on the council’s website."
