An Inverness charity says that collection bags for donations circulating in the city are not provided by them.

Forces Support Inverness, who ran a charity mega-store in Telford Street, said it wants to warn people that bags distributed to homes will not benefit their work.

The donation bags feature the logo of the charity and information about a decorated solider who was killed in Afghanistan in 2012.

An online statement said: "Whilst we are closed, it has come to our attention that these collection bags are in circulation around Inverness.

"Our logo, email and other charity details are on the bags but we are definitely not running a bag collection service and the donations will not be coming to the Inverness store or Forces Support.

"If you have any queries please call us on 01463 718655."

The charity is currently looking for a new premises in Inverness to continue its work.
