A Nairn woman who was involved in the supply of cannabis in the town has been ordered to carry out 135 hours of unpaid community work.

Sophie MacPhee (23) of the town’s Ashers Court was appearing at Inverness Sheriff Court after previously admitting the drugs offence which was committed at the Links on January 4, 2021.

Sentence had been deferred for a background report.

The first offender was represented by David Patterson who told Sheriff Ian Cruickshank: "She has no new matters and the report is positive.

“She had a challenging upbringing but she is now with a more positive peer group.

"She is a young lady who clearly needs some kind of support."

Sheriff Cruickshank also placed MacPhee under a year's supervision.
