Carers praised by the boss of Highland Home Carers for continuing hard work during coronavirus crisis
The chief executive of Highland Home Carers, has said its work is essential in making almost 29,000 visits a week to people’s homes in a battle to keep people safe and well during the coronavirus crisis.
Campbell Mair said: “The situation we find ourselves in continues to be a rapidly evolving one and one that we have already shown that we are willing to rise to.
“We are on the frontline offering a first line of defence in keeping people safe in their own homes which in turn allows NHS staff working to continue its work.”
He added: “To work effectively, staff members work flexibly, and with agility. They have done an incredible job in changing working patterns, normal locations, the way we communicate with each other and the roles that people play within the business.
“We are an essential part of people’s lives, and to the entire health and social care landscape. The difference we are required to make in people’s lives is more important and significant than ever.
“I think that our sense of focus, purpose, and belonging will be important to all of us in the weeks ahead, and our organisation is well placed to support this.
“Aside from providing regular information and updates to staff, colleagues have proven time and again that we are here for each other during this unprecedented and difficult time.”
