Inverness police investigating Hogmanay theft of a safe from city’s Carsegate Road urge two canal cyclists to help with investigations

Police in Inverness investigating a Hogmanay break-in want to speak to two cyclists spotted near the scene.

A safe was among items stolen from premises on the city’s Carsegate Road at around 9.30pm on December 31.

Officers in Inverness are appealing for information following the incident and believe the pair, who were on the canal path, may be able to help with inquiries.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Around 9.30pm on Tuesday, 31 December, 2024, access was gained and a safe and other items taken.

“Enquiries are ongoing and officers are appealing for help from the public.

“We are keen to speak to two cyclists who were on the canal path at the time and would ask them to get in touch as they may have information which could assist.”

Anyone with any information, private CCTV or dash-cam footage is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 2253 of 1 January, 2025.
