The track, which Calum reveals is about falling in love and figuring out what dynamic works between a couple, is the second single from Calum’s debut album due out next Friday (April 14).

Calum, now lives in Inverness but comes from Fort William, and is best-known as a member of the award-winning trad folk band Hò-rò. He released his debut solo EP in 2017.

In 2021, Calum won the MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards original work of the year for his single 7 Years Old.

His most recent single Let Your Love Flow was released in November 2022 and provided a fresh spin on the classic 1975 country song from The Bellamy Brothers.

New single Oh My Darlin’ features Calum MacPhail on vocals, Cathal Murphy on electric guitar and backing vocals, Sean Cousins (Hò-rò) on acoustic guitar, Calum MacQuarrie on bass, Ivan Steele on whistle, and Mark Scobbie on drums.

Calum MacPhail said: “This is my favourite song of the ones I’ve written so far.

“I’m so happy that the sound we were able to achieve reflects the emotion of the lyrics perfectly. I hope people will enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed making it.”

The single was recorded at GloWorm Recording Studios with Ross Saunders.

Oh My Darlin’ will be available to download and stream on all major platforms on Friday (April 7).

Calum’s debut album At Last will then be released next Friday (April 14).
