Callum Beattie launches ‘most important record of my career’ in aid of Highland charity Mikeysline
Singing superstar Callum Beattie has released “the most important record of my career” in aid of Highland charity Mikeysline.
Something in my Eye got its official launch last Friday having been premiered during his performance at this year’s Belladrum festival.
The video stars Scotland-set historical fantasy drama series Outlander actors Sam Heughan and Richard Rankin - and a percentage of all sales will go to suicide prevention and mental health awareness charity Mikeysline.

Heralding the official release on his social media channels Callum said: “Without a doubt, the most important record I’ve ever made!
“My first as an independent artist, but more importantly, it’s in support of Mikeysline - doesn’t get any better than that.”
Appointed an ambassador for Mikeysline earlier this year he added: “Something In My Eye is a song all about openness and vulnerability, and I’m releasing it in the hope that it helps even a tiny number of people to open up and talk about their own feelings and vulnerabilities.
“It’s not something we should push down or be ashamed of. Quite the opposite - we should be proud that we can be broken and vulnerable, because that’s what allows us to grow, and it’s what really turns us ALL into heroes without capes.
“Supporting the wonderful charity @mikeysline_ only makes it even sweeter.
“I think we should all treasure and love ourselves, and others too.
“Take the time to let people know you are there for them, but also take the time to let YOURSELF know how valuable and precious you are too.”
Mikeysline chief executive Emily Stokes said: “We absolutely love Callum's single 'Something in my eye'; the message it gives and the meaning behind it that so aligns with what we are about at Mikeysline and getting people to open up, perfectly aligning with our Bee The Change campaign, which aims to change the dialogue about mental health and break down the stigma that can prevent people from reaching out for support when they most need it.
“Our hope is that this song along with the absolutely fantastic video will really have an impact on doing this and supporting people to reach out for support, which is what we are here for.
“As a Highland grassroots charity, we couldn’t be more grateful to our ambassadors, Callum, Dave (Rogers, Callum’s manager), and all the band for what they have done with this the song and video, as well as Sam and Richard for giving their time so generously and getting involved to make this video which is so fitting for the wonderful song.
“Their added support and involvement can only ensure that the crucial message of ‘it's ok not to be ok' will reach an even wider audience.”
