AN annual fundraising event has raised more than £1000 on its last outing.

This year’s Buttonbox Gathering accordion concert, held in aid of the Highland Hospice, raised £1039 at Eden Court Theatre recently.

Organised by local woman Catherine Mackay since 2001, it has raised more than £30,000 for various causes.

Andrew Leaver, head of fundraising at Highland Hospice, said: “The Buttonbox Gathering became a local institution and I’m sure all the charities that have benefited would join with me to say thank you to Catherine, her husband Jim and their family for all the hard work these past 19 years.”
