Butcher shop adds new defibrillator to Nairn High Street
A NAIRN butcher have added a lifesaving tool to the town centre.
B Clark & Son Butchers, in Leopold Street, celebrated the installation of a new defibrillator outside the shop, making it accessible also outwith opening hours.
The family-run business had started raising funds for the new appliance since before lockdown.
Paul Clark said: “My father has a heart condition and together we thought it would be a good thing to do.
“We started raising funds before the pandemic and then we had to put the plans on hold, but a few weeks ago we decided to revisit the idea.
“Ninety per cent of the funds came from our customers, so we are very thankful to anyone who donated money towards it.”
The defibrillator was installed by Elgin-based Keirans Legacy, which will be servicing it on a yearly basis.
“It means that it will always be ready to deploy if needed,” Mr Clark added.
