Entrepreneurial Masterclass raises funds for Highland Hospice
A series of Entrepreneurial Masterclasses that took place at the start of the year has clocked up nearly £2500 of funds for Highland Hospice.
Organised by Angus MacDonald, alongside Lochaber Chamber of Commerce, SkyeConnect and Inverness Chamber of Commerce, the classes took a tour of the Highlands during February.
Mr MacDonald – a serial entrepreneur and Highland councillor – presented a keynote speech at each event where he talked tips, tricks and strategy in order to build a valuable business. Local businesses were also part of a panel so that the audiences in Portree, Fort William and Inverness could ask questions on a variety of topics. As a ticketed event, the funds generated were not-for-profit, and given to Highland Hospice.
Mr MacDonald, said: "It is fantastic to see business people at the various stages of their companies growth get together like this. The three events in Portree, Fort William and here in Inverness were great fun and stimulated a lot of interesting discussion."
A spokesperson for Highland Hospice said: "We were absolutely thrilled to receive such a generous donation from the hugely successful entrepreneurial events and are honoured to be chosen as the charity to benefit from such a wonderful donation.
"Such support means a great deal to all our patients, families and service users and allows us to continue to provide care across the Highlands."
Paula Nicol, deputy chief executive of Inverness Chamber of Commerce, added: “We were delighted to support the recent series of Entrepreneurial Masterclasses. The opportunity to hear from people running successful businesses and learn from their experience was invaluable for those attending.
“Highland Hospice’s role providing specialist palliative care across the Highlands is so important and, as a charity that is also an Inverness Chamber of Commerce member, we’re thrilled that the proceeds from these events is going to support their vital work.”
