Shiel Buses provides free service for NHS workers in the Highlands
A Highland bus company is offering free travel to NHS staff on its services until further notice.
Shiel Buses, which operates a number of services in the region, said the offer was as a thank you for health workers' hard work.
To take advantage of the offer NHS staff should show their staff ID to drivers on boarding.
A spokesman for the firm also had a reminder for customers about current travel rules.
"We have noticed an increase in our passenger numbers over the last few days and wish to remind our customers that the whole country is in a government-enforced lockdown for Covid-19," he said.
"Only travel if it is essential. For example for food or medicine shopping – as infrequently as possible – for a medical need, for essential work, ie key workers.
"Please do not use public transport if you have any coronavirus symptoms.
"Please help us to protect our drivers and the key workers that we transport by acknowledging and respecting these rules.
"Observe social distancing and spacing on our buses and in bus stops and queues. Please use our contactless facility where possible."
