Shiel Buses, which operates the Citylink service between Inverness and the south, wants customers to pay by contactless means.

The operator, which runs a daily service between Inverness, Drumnadrochit, Fort Augustus and Fort William, has also asked customers to observe social distancing measures.

The firm said: "To our customers, please continue to protect drivers and our community by only travelling if absolutely necessary, ie key workers, and practice social distancing and please use our contactless facility.

"We’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of our staff at Shiel Buses for their continuous effort and dedication at this unprecedented time.

"You all play a vital role in getting fellow key workers to their work place in this very challenging time. We appreciate every one of you."
