Bus delays expected due to Kessock Bridge repairs

Kessock Bridge - bus company warns of severe delays

WARNINGS of severe delays across the Inverness bus network next week have been issued by operator Stagecoach.

The company fears £80,000 repair work on the Kessock Bridge from 19th to 26th June will have knock-on effects for the rest of the city.

"The Kessock bridge can already be heavily congested when even a minor closure is in operation but to coordinate such closures during peak commuter periods, and with such little notice is beyond belief," said Steve Walker, managing director for Stagecoach in the Highlands.

"Although we will be doing everything we can to minimise delays by putting on additional vehicles where possible, if the work continues as planned we can only apologise to our customers who will inevitably suffer delays on our services — not just those crossing the Kessock Bridge but also for those caught up in the ensuing chaos which will be evident on the roads in Inverness."
