Emergency services are at the scene of an accident on A9 just north of the A9.

UPDATE: A9 north of Inverness ‘slow-moving’ in both directions

Initial reports from drivers in the vicinity, just north of North Kessock and south of Tore, suggest several vehicles were involved.

AA Traffic News first reported issues on that stretch of dual carriageway just after 5pm, but there was no indication there had been an accident.

Witnesses say police and ambulance crews are in attendance, but a Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesman confirmed they were not present.

It is not yet known whether there are any casualties.

It is understood the road may be blocked in a northbound direction.

Police and ambulance have been contacted for more information.
