An Inverness city centre street has been cordoned off as firefighters check reports of smoke coming from a building.

FIRE ALERT UPDATE: Smouldering cigarette in drain may have caused minor fire that closed an Inverness city centre street

Two fire appliances are in attendance at Union Street where a member of public raised the alarm at 11.42 am after seeing smoke coming from the foot of a building occupied by Waverley Guest House and other businesses.
