Fire crews were called to a house fire in an Inverness neighbourhood in the early hours today.

The blaze happened in Tomatin Road, Old Hilton.

The alarm was raised just after 2am.

Four fire appliances from Inverness plus a height appliance were sent to the scene.

The stop message was at 7.13am but fire crews are still at the scene.

Photographs posted on social media show a fierce blaze and plumes of dark smoke which can be seen from a distance.
