BREAKING NEWS: A82 closed in both directions at Lochend by Loch Ness following a serious crash – motorists are advised to find to find an alternative route

The A82 at Lochend is closed in both directions due to what is described as a serious collision.

Traffic Scotland shared the news in a tweet just before 5pm and urged motorists to find an alternative route.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "We were made aware of a crash on the A82 north of Lochend around 4.20pm on Thursday, 3 June.

"Emergency services are currently at the scene and the road is closed in both directions."
