Man (53) set to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court charged with attempted murder of 21-year-old man in city’s Madras Street





A 53-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the attempted murder of a man in Inverness.

The 21-year-old victim was found seriously injured on Telford Street in Inverness, outside Mr Chips takeaway, after the incident on Madras Street at around 11.20pm on Sunday, September 14.

His condition was initially described as “critical” while at Raigmore Hospital, and while he remains is now said to be “stable”.

The 53-year-old man is due to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court today (Friday, September 19).

Detective Inspector Caroline MacKay said: “I would like to pass on my thanks to the local community for their continued support and engagement during this investigation.”
