BREAKING: A body has been found during hunt for missing Fortrose man Anthony Brown, says Police Scotland

Police searching for a man missing from Fortrose say they have found a body.

Anthony Brown (62) was last seen at his home on the morning of Wednesday, September 18. He was reported missing today (Thursday).

Worried family members made a plea for Mr Brown to get in touch and let them know he was safe.

Police Scotland have just announced that the body of a man was found in the Balblair area of Easter Ross this afternoon.

Mr Brown’s family have been told of the find, but formal identification of the body is yet to take place.

A police spokeswoman said: “Around 4pm on Thursday, 19 September, 2024, the body of a man was found in the Balblair area.

“Formal identification is yet to take place but the family of missing man Anthony Brown has been informed.

“There do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
