AN Inverness man relapsed into alcoholism on learning his best friend had died suddenly from a heart condition.

But Brandon Denoon (22) of Burnside Drive had been released on bail the day before from Inverness Sheriff Court last week and breached his bail curfew.

Defence solicitor Marc Dickson explained the tragic story behind his client’s re-arrest to Sheriff Margaret Neilson.

Denoon admitted breach of bail and possession of a knife last Saturday without reasonable excuse.

Mr Dickson said the knife was a small novelty one in the shape of a shotgun cartridge.

Denoon was fined £320.
