East 17 announced on line-up for MacMoray Festival 2026
The sixth act announced for MacMoray Festival 2026 is boy band East 17.
East 17 - formed in 1991 - are fondly remembered for their 1994 Christmas number one Stay Another Day.
However, they are much more than just that song, having had a whopping 18 top-20 hits in the United Kingdom.
The trio consists of original member Terry Coldwell, Robbie Craig and Joe Livermore.
East 17 join Cammy Barnes, Punk Rock Factory, DJ George Bowie and 2 Unlimited on the line-up for MacMoray.
The festival is due to take place at Elgin’s Cooper Park on May 2-3, 2026.
East 17 were a surprise announcement - with organiser Andy Macdonald announcing the group’s performance at midnight on Friday.
Explaining the shock reveal, he said: “After celebrating the Cammy Barnes announcement with the MacMoray Community group (a private group for Top Fans only), the group was buzzing late into the night.
“Around 100 members were still actively chatting at 11pm, throwing around ideas for what funny video we should do next.
“I’d had a few whiskies by that point and someone suggested I should just go ahead and announce the next act at midnight. I ran a quick poll and about 80 per cent voted yes... so I went for it.
“It definitely shook things up a bit, and honestly, the response was even better than I expected!”
