Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) investigating power cut that has hit 200 Black Isle homes near Cromarty

A power cut has hit more than 200 homes in the Black Isle.

The outage in the Jemimaville and Resolis areas near Cromarty was reported to energy company SSEN at around 7.33 am this morning.

SSEN says engineers are on their way to deal with the issue and expect to have it resolved by 11 am this morning.

An SSEN spokesman said: “We are aware of the power cut in the area, affecting 238 homes.

“Engineers are expected to arrive at 8.30 am. Once they arrive, they will get straight to work on investigating the fault and trying to restore power.

“The cause of the power cut is a fault on our overhead network.
