Carlton Bingo employee in Inverness subjected to tirade of abuse from Nairn man

A member of staff at an Inverness bingo hall was subjected to a tirade of abuse by a Nairn man, a sheriff was told.
John Stewart, of John Street, appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court and admitted behaving in an threatening and aggressive manner towards the retail worker at the Carlton Bingo Hall on February 7, 2024.
The 39-year-old also pleaded guilty to assaulting a police sergeant in Burnett Road Police Station by attempting to butt him on the head and butting him on the body.
Defence solicitor Rory Gowans told Sheriff Ian Cruickshank that his client is on a community payback order and a background report would be required.
Sentence was deferred until July 3 for the report.
