Wintry weather in the Inverness area caused some disruption to bin collections today.

Highland Council is advising that the collections will take place as soon as possible.

Services in the city's Cradlehall area were among those affected after residents in the region woke up to heavy snow this morning.

A Highland Council spokeswoman said: "Our service is experiencing some limited disruption as a result of winter weather.

"If your bin has not been collected, please report a missed bin using the online form at www.highland.gov.uk/report

and leave the bin at the normal collection point.

"It will be collected as soon as possible."

Further snowfall in the region is forecast.
