Inverness biker caught drug-driving ‘two days after taking cocaine’
Police stopped a motorcyclist on suspicion of drug-driving four days after he was caught with some cannabis he and some of his friends had clubbed together to buy.
At Inverness Sheriff Court, 25-year-old Andrew Hillhouse, of Dunabban Road, Inverness admitted possession of the Class B drug in Coronation Park on September 1 last year with intent to supply it.
Hillhouse was arrested again on September 5 at the same location after he was stopped by police officers. His reading was 23mcgs of cocaine when the legal driving limit is 10mcgs.
Defence solicitor Willie Young told Sheriff Sara Matheson that his client and his friends had put money together for him to buy the drugs. He added that the motorcycle offence was committed two days after he had taken cocaine.
"He has no outstanding cases and has not been taking any drugs in any form since," Mr Young went on.
Hillhouse was fined £290 and banned from driving for three years as well as being ordered to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work as an alternative to a fine on the drugs possession charge.
