There’s no doubt the last year has been tough on every industry sector.

There are still huge hurdles to overcome, but with the roll-out of the coronavirus vaccine programme, it is hoped there are sunnier times ahead.

Nairn BID was voted in by a majority of businesses in 2018 for a five-year term. The organisation exists to help make Nairn a more prosperous and desirable place to live, work and visit.

Over the last three years, the BID has worked on a number of projects and we are delighted to continue these works.

Recently, Nairn BID was awarded £28,052 Scottish Government Town Centre funding to deliver projects in our town centre.

We look forward to being able to make the centre of our seaside town an even more welcoming place for locals and of course visitors when they can once again return.

As well as the planned projects laid out in the Nairn BID’s five-year plan, the Nairn BID, like similar organisations has worked tirelessly since last March to support our businesses by keeping them abreast of new sources of support.

We have also done our best to promote those businesses who have been able to operate with us sharing stories and posts on our social media channels.

This support will continue as the situation with Covid-19 continues and develops and we are lucky to work with many partner organisations which means, if the BID team can’t help directly, they can signpost to an organisation which can.

We would like to urge people to get in touch and become involved in the work of the BID if possible.

We have an extensive mailing list of many interested parties as well as the members who we keep informed of what’s going on with the BID.

We are tentatively planning on how we can help support our town when restrictions are lifted.

We aim to capitalise on an undoubted desire for fresh air and make sure we are in the best position to cater for overnight visitors and day-trippers alike.
