Benedetti Foundation residency sessions with Highland pupils
More than 1200 pupils had the chance to receive musical inspiration from the Benedetti Foundation.
High Life Highland was involved in facilitating a week of activities including exploring rhythm, pitch, listening, singing and having fun.
The Benedetti Foundation was established in 2019 by world-renowned Scottish violinist and dedicated music education advocate Nicola Benedetti. It aims to deliver transformative experiences through mass music education and to ensure equal access to music participation.
The schedule included 400 young strings players visiting Inverness Leisure on Friday for a day of ensemble playing.
Primary school teachers from the Inverness area received their own training event called Building Confidence Teaching Primary Music, delivered by the foundations' head of creative learning Lucy Drever.
High Life Highland's head of music development Norman Bolton said: “Opportunities such as this residency week don’t come around very often, so we have been delighted to support the events and organise the school visits and workshops so that they can benefit the highest number of pupils in a concentrated timescale.
"It’s important that the High Life Highland staff and the pupils they work with have the opportunity to be involved in these inspirational activities and we certainly hope that all the Benedetti Foundation team will have very positive memories of their week with us.”
