Belladrum site to open earlier to ease traffic congestion

BELLADRUM Tartan Heart Festival organisers will open car parks and camping areas three hours earlier next year in a bid to avoid the traffic congestion which hit this summer’s event.

Car parks and camping areas will be open from 10am at next year’s festival instead of the usual time of 1pm.

“This is in an effort to encourage patrons to arrive in a steadier flow throughout the day and to reduce traffic congestion,” said a spokesman. “Arena opening times will also be brought forward for the Thursday and details will be released in due course.”

Tickets for next year's festival , which runs from 4th to 6th August, will go on sale on Thursday.

Electronic tickets will be available via the festival website at www.tartanheartfestival.co.uk

Physical tickets, which go on sale on Friday, will be available from a number of local agents including The Ironworks, Eden Court, Caffery’s and Hootnananny in Inverness, the Post Office in Kiltarlity and Morrison’s in Beauly.

“Bella sold out in record time in January [for this year’s festival], and has sold out each of the last seven years, often months before the event, so fans are urged to buy early to avoid disappointment,” added the spokesman.
