November 2018: Trikes at Cromarty.

When the community of Cromarty was given the opportunity to try these special trikes, Dr Helen Charley and Jean Young took in the sights as pilot Alastair Smith pedalled away.

This photograph, which captures the Cromarty Firth in the background, was taken by Highland News & Media photographer Gary Anthony.

It forms part of an online retrospective series, Behind The Lens: The Legacy of a Highland news photographer, being run by the Inverness Courier in tribute to Gary who died in August 2023, aged 58.

The legacy of a Highland news photographer

As the man behind the lens, Gary captured moments of history in the making, recorded people's triumphs and tragedies and observed day-to-day life, often working to a tight deadline but managing to bring an artistry to his images.
