The Old School Beauly is among the best card retailers in the UK, having reached the finals in The Retas greeting card retailer awards.

The awards, now in their 15th year, were launched by Progressive Greetings magazine to recognise and reward the UK’s very best greeting card retailers from across the retail spectrum.

Old School Beauly is owned by Helen and William Crawford.

Mrs Crawford said: “We were thrilled to hear that we had been nominated because we are first and foremost a lifestyle shop.

"We sell clothing, gifting, home wares, music and books. However we are also known for our 'old school' double-width corridor which is where we have masses and masses of greetings cards!

"We love to source the most unusual, beautiful cards in the industry and we love to hear people laughing out loud in the corridor at the funny cards. It’s rewarding when we find the right card for the right occasion – be that a joyful or sad occasion.

"We find there is increasingly a shift away from sending e-cards. Our customers are looking for a good quality, physical card which is meaningful and can be posted or handed over in person.”

Winners will be announced in London on July 10.
