A 43-year-old scaffolder was “extremely remorseful” with police officers after he was arrested for shouting at his former partner outside her home.

Inverness Sheriff Court heard that David Mackenzie, of Braeside Park, Balloch, had been involved in a disagreement with the woman during a phone call on May 29, 2020.

Following this argument, he travelled to her house in Madras Street, Inverness, where the offence then occurred.

Fiscal depute Niall Macdonald told Sheriff Gary Aitken last week that Mackenzie regretted what he had done when officers arrived and placed him under arrest.

The defence solicitor also told the court that Mackenzie’s former partner had indicated that the incident had been one that was “out of character” for his client.

Mackenzie, who admitted at court to a charge of behaving in a threatening manner, was ordered to pay a fine of £395.
