Babies and children at Raigmore Hospital donated Christmas gifts from SSEN Transmission
Babies and children at Raigmore Hospital have received gifts from a local business.
Staff at electricity network organisation SSEN Transmission donated over 250 toys at hospitals in Perth, Inverness, Aberdeen and Glasgow.
The initiative was organised by SSEN Transmission’s Sammy Hyett, who encouraged others across the business to collectively gather a wide range of new toys, including games, books, and educational materials, to be distributed to babies and children currently being cared for at hospitals across Scotland.
"We’re thrilled to be able to give back to the local communities close to our four main offices this Christmas," said Sammy Hyett, development project manager at SSEN Transmission.
"Our staff across our Perth, Inverness, Aberdeen and Glasgow offices really got behind the initiative to gather these donations, and we hope these toys bring some festive cheer and joy to the children and their families at Ninewells, Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital, Raigmore and the Royal Children’s Hospital in Glasgow. It’s our small way of spreading happiness this festive season."
The toys were handed over to the four hospitals earlier this week, and the gifts will be distributed to children of all ages. Hospital staff expressed their thanks for the donation, acknowledging the positive impact it will have on the children and their families during their stay.
