A planning application has been submitted for the new public artwork, entitled ‘My Ness’ to be situated at the Little Isle Pool, Fisherman’s Car Park by the River Ness.
The new concept for the “Gathering Place”, which is the centrepiece of the River Ness Art Project, was launched earlier this year.
Last autumn the artists Sans Façon and OSA set up a large screen in Inverness Railway Station to show a specially commissioned film of the river and invited people to come and share their stories, views and reminiscences to inspire the eventual design.
The £240,000 feature is funded by Creative Scotland (40 per cent), Inverness Common Good Fund (37 per cent), Highland Council (14 per cent) and Highlands and Islands Enterprise (9 per cent).
