The family of an Inverness man who has been missing since Friday have appealed for locals to keep their eyes open for him.

Alan Fowler works with Signpost, which recently changed its name to In This Together, and helps those in recovery from addiction, suffering from poor emotional health or who have come through the criminal justice system.

He has not been seen since a taxi driver dropped him off in Union Street at 1.30pm.

Daughter Rebecca Fowler has made an appeal for anyone who has seen her father to get in touch.

In an online statement she said: " My dad Alan Fowler has been missing from his home in the Bunchrew area of Inverness since Friday afternoon.

"He was last seen getting out of a taxi in Union Street at approx 1.30pm and unfortunately we have no further information yet as to where he could’ve headed from there.

"He has left his wallet at home, but we think he may have taken one of his bank cards with him and his phone seems to be switched off or out of battery. He is not in a great frame of mind and is very vulnerable at the moment.

"The police are involved and are actively looking for him but I would appreciate if anyone local could keep their eyes peeled and either contact myself or 101 if they think they might have seen him. There is also a possibility he might have travelled out of Inverness.

"He is around 6ft 3inches and of a medium build. Thanks in advance."
