Another six cases of coronavirus detected in NHS Highland area

A further six new cases of Covid-19 have been detected across the NHS Highland region.

The area's cumulative total rose from 1328 to 1334 when the latest daily update was published.

A total of 887 positive tests were recorded across Scotland in the past day.

A total of 1193 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed Covid-19, down by 41 from the previous day.

Of those in hospital 100 were in intensive care, up 12 since Friday.

A further 37 who previously tested positive for the virus have sadly died in Scotland.

Elsewhere in the north of Scotland, there were no new positive tests in NHS Eileanan Siar, NHS Shetland or NHS Orkney.

NHS Tayside detected a further 46 cases, to take its cumulative total to 5401.

And NHS Grampian's running tally increased by 36 to 4215.

There have been 87,517 positive tests across Scotland since the start of the pandemic.
