A protest was held in Inverness over the weekend to support animal welfare.

Anonymous for the Voiceless donned Guy Fawkes masks - made famous in the hit film V for Vendetta - to hold the silent demonstration.

The non-profit, formed in Australia originally, hope to raise awareness of farming practices that they deem unsound and to support animal rights and the vegan lifestyle.

Anonymous for the Voiceless Inverness started just over a year ago, since then have held three-hour group sessions twice a month.

A spokesman for the chapter said: "Anonymous for the Voiceless is a worldwide not-for-profit animal rights organisation, specialising in using conversation and standard practice footage of animal agriculture to educate the public about the animal exploitation they fund if they are not vegan.

"We hold a strong abolitionist stance against all forms of non-human animal exploitation.

"We are a voice against history's largest and longest standing injustice.

"Our street activism consists of two teams. A 'cube of truth' team who hold truth cards and TV's showing what happens to the animals non vegans use, these members wear the anonymous masks and don't interact with the public and remain statuesque resulting in an eye-catching static art piece that draws the public in to learn about why we are here.

"The second team are the outreaches who talk to members of the public who show interest in what we are doing.

"The footage shown combined with information from the outreach team helps bring the power of change back to the individual shedding light from the victims point of view.

"We're standing for the voiceless victims who are denied respect, we are not fighting for better welfare, for bigger cages or better conditions before being brutally killed , we are fighting for no cages.

"The use of animals is the abuse.

"We are fighting for the victims to have rights over their own bodies, to be respected for the individuals they are instead of being seen as products non vegans can use as they like and trade with.

"There is no humane way to kill somebody who wants to live so we are asking everyone to stop the unnecessary animal abuse they fund and be vegan."
