Inverness woman faces string of charges after abusive and threatening behaviour at Raigmore Hospital’s A&E
A woman who has had a history of abuse and violence at the hands of her previous partners turned to drink and substance misuse to cope, Inverness Sheriff Court heard.
But Sheriff Eilidh Macdonald was told that when 41-year-old Kim Fraser, of Oldtown Road, Inverness was intoxicated, she commits crimes and last week she was remanded in custody for abusive and threatening behaviour at the A&E unit of Raigmore Hospital on November 7.
Fraser appeared by video link facing a number of charges including her most recent offences which included police assault; and two of threatening behaviour, one of which had a deferred sentence for a background report.

Fraser also had a community payback review which indicated she had begun to co-operate after a rocky start, defence solicitor advocate Clare Russell told the court.
She added: "The report makes for harrowing reading. She has sought to self-medicate with alcohol and substance abuse and that underpins all her offending. But none of that is an excuse for her behaviour."
Sheriff Macdonald agreed. She told Fraser: "I know where you are coming from but your behaviour is appalling and you will only get so many chances. But I accept you also need continued support."
The sheriff agreed to allow the community payback order to continue but decided to jail Fraser for three months backdated to November 8. She deferred sentence again on the disruptive behaviour charge where she was arrested from her mother's home in Dingwall in the early hours of December 10 last year because she was intoxicated.
Fiscal depute Eilidh Gunn said that Fraser had to be restrained in the back of a police van where she made offensive and homophobic remarks to police.
The other offence involved spitting in the direction of a police officer in a cell at Burnett Road Police Station in Inverness on July 1 this year.
